Interactive Villages now offers state-of-the-art email filtering service, Email Assistant. Email Assistant provides you the latest tools available to prevent junk email and viruses from reaching your computer. Although we have rudimentary virus protection on our email server, we have been very cautious not to take a "censorship" position with our customer's email.

Let Email Assistant put the control for email filtering in your hands! Not only will this system help reduce the growing amount of junk email, but it also provides a second level of virus filtering to further help protect you. As part of our commitment to provide our customers with new and beneficial technologies, we are excited to be able to provide this service.

The system is completely private and secure. The filtering is an automated process and nobody besides you ever has access to your email. You control the filter settings to suit your needs. We understand that any type of filtering is a sensitive area, which is why we have decided to offer this service...it keeps the control where it belongs, in your hands.

Here is a brief overview of the email filtering service:

• Your email passes through the automated filtering system that detects suspected junk email and viruses.
• Suspicious email is directed to your personal, private, web-based Message Center. It stops here before reaching the inbox on your computer. Think of this personal area as a type of quarantine. In your Message Center, you can read any stopped email safely without risking damage to your computer, delete the messages, or if you choose forward them on to your computer for delivery.
• You are encouraged to visit your personal Message Center often because the mail filter "remembers and learns" from your interaction with the system. This helps the system to tailor itself to your specific filter settings, allowing for the best possible protection from junk email and viruses. As time goes on you will be able to rely on periodic notifications of activity with your Message Center.
• The system lets you block specific senders, meaning email from them will always be filtered, and you can also specify specific allowed senders, that are always allowed to pass through your filtering.
• The service is completely controlled by you.

When your email filtering service is activated, you will receive specific instructions on how to use your personal Message Center and how to get the most out of your junk email and virus protection.
