1985 Mercedes 380SL |
| This
car was purchased via Ebay in Oct. of 2005 in Aneheim, California. It was
acquired in stock condition, with 125,000 miles and had the wear/tear
appropriate for that vintage. The previous owner had invested about $4,000
in new fuel injection components which saved me quite a bit of cost and
trouble.
I have since cleaned up the car and modified the interior to my liking, moving some of the switches, as well as modified the front grill and bumper configuration to present a cleaner, more streamlined front end. I also added a 10" subwoofer, 150-watt amp and rear speakers. Click here for photos and info on that project. Click here for the front bumper mods page Click

| 1 | This is more or less the stock car before I made any modifications |
| 2 | Here's the "final" product with modified grill, euro headlights, and 16" replica chrome wheels. I removed the fog lights and turn signals from the front bumper and created some filler panels from 30 ga. aluminum duct sheeting. |
| 3 | Close up of front end. Aftermarket driving lights added behind the new grill. |
| 4 | Back end with new black top in place. Note the tinted rear windows. |
| 5 | Side profile |
| 6 | Trunk view with Rockford amp, first aid kit and fire extinguisher. |
| 7 | Modified dash with burl-textured instrument cluster, Nardi wood steering wheel. I also removed the ambient temperature gauge from the center and placed an additional vent, using a 3-headed vent duct from a euro model that I found in a salvage yard. Antennae, defogger and interior light switches were also moved from below the vents to above the climate control switches. Much better use of that empty space! |
